Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. The actress is an actor, singer and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway include the musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu series Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson. The film will be available through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. This show will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who created Hamilton. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over one century. The two-season run she had on the CBS show B Positive was her first big character. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
